Twilight

She is one of the countless victims held hostage in what most of us consider to be an unthinkable world – that of human slavery. Many are still children when they are taken, their stolen innocence now left behind, with only despair to haunt their dreams.
I imagined the tragedy of a young girl looking for an escape, knowing that there is only one who can take her away from the pain and misery of the cruelest kind of abuse, as in the sex trade of human trafficking.
She reaches out for Death to take her hand.
This piece will be part of a traveling art exhibit held by Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition, to help bring awareness to stop human trafficking.
Houston is in the top 3 U.S. cities known for having an alarming amount of cases involving human slavery.
For more information and to help in this cause, please contact Houston Rescue & Restore Coalition , or Polaris Project in Washington, DC.
